The introduction and misuse of COMSTAT by the Baltimore Police leadership (using it as a toxic whipping post versus a legitimate criminal investigative tool) placed statistics over humanity.
The War on Drugs has been an abysmal failure, yet society keeps sticking its face in that chainsaw.
Shows such as "Cops" set up an us-versus-them mentality and became the worst role model for what were once called Peace Officers.
Simon is pretty much spot-on in his observations. "The Wire" rocked for a reason.
