Emma Carew Grovum is the director of careers and culture at The Marshall Project, who leads our recruitment, professional development, workplace culture, and DEI programs. In this role, she works closely with the organization’s human resources team and managers to enhance existing onboarding experiences for new hires, surveys staff for internal feedback to develop workplace culture initiatives, and designs national and regional staff retreats. Prior to joining The Marshall Project, she was the founder of Kimbap Media, a consultancy solving problems at the intersection of journalism, technology, and audience, where she coached journalists on leadership and digital transformation. She is based in New York.
