Jovelle Tamayo is a Seattle-based multimedia editor who shepherds The Marshall Project’s local visual storytelling. Previously, Tamayo contributed visual journalism to publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, California Sunday Magazine and TIME. They are also a founding member of the Authority Collective, a group of women and non-binary imagemakers of color. Jovelle was born in the Philippines, raised in New Jersey, and received their undergraduate degree in political science from Rutgers University.
